We are happy to support and maintain any website (whether we built it or not). We're open to any sort of arrangement up to and including staffing someone on site on a full or part time basis to assume the role of your in house webmaster. But most web support is done on an hourly basis. We have three typical options for support services: 1.) as needed, 2.) monthly allocations, and 3.) pre-paid blocks.
In this case, we simply are available to perform whatever it is that you need to be done. We charge a set hourly rate (currently, $125/hr) with a one hour minimum per work request. The only problem with this is that you may want a word changed out and don't want to pay for a whole hour for something that takes us 10 minutes to do. (The reasons we have the hour minimum is because for such minor requests, it can take much more time to deal with the overhead of processing and billing the request than it does to actually do the work.) If you don't like this idea, perhaps a maintenance plan is best for you:
In this plan, you pay for a set number of hours per month. And we don't have the one-hour minimum that we do without a plan. So if your task only requires 15 minutes, then you're only charged for the 15 minutes (we record time in 15 minute increments). Overages are billed at our normally hourly rate; so if you run over regularly, we'll be happy to upgrade your plan to more hours at any time you request. . And if your work request is going to take much more than "several hours" we will provide a 'mini-estimate' with a fixed price so you don't end up spending $500 on something you thought would take 15 minutes to do.
1 hour per month: $125/hr
2-3 hours per month: $112.50/hr (10% discount)
4-5 hours per month: $106.25/hr (15% discount)
5+ hours per month: $100/hr (20% discount)
NOTE: A 6 month minimum committment is required for monthly plans.
If your maintenance needs are more sporadic or if you think you'll need a lot more tweaking just after launch, but then won't need any for a while, a pre-paid plan may be your best option (it is also our most popular option). It's a lot like a calling card: You buy a block of time, and then just use it as necessary until it's depleted. Once it's used up, you can pick a new plan, or just 'recharge' your maintenance allocation. Like the monthly plan, we track time in 15 minute increments. Like with our monthly plan, we will always let you know if something is going to take more than 2-3 hours so that you understand what any given work request is going to cost you up front, even if it is already paid for.
5 to 9 hours: $125/hr (5 hours is the minimum block)
10-19 hours: $112.50/hr (10% discount)
20-29 hours: $106.25/hr (15% discount)
30+ hours: $100/hr (20% discount)
We don't normally charge rush fees unless we have to. And by that we mean that if we can accommodate you within the course of our normal work load during normal business hours, even if it is a same-day or on-the-spot request, we won't charge you rush fees. But if we have to juggle our production schedule or work during non-business hours, rush fees are typicaly a $50/hr premium on top of any of the above mentioned rates. You will of course be notified in advance of any such fees.
